Local produce for Bowen students
The Bowen Agricultural Alliance (BAA) has given a $500 donation to support the Bowen Island Community School's new Farm To School program. The program aims to get local produce into the hand and bellies of Bowen students.
BAA is a registered non-profit society supporting small-scale agriculture, promoting local eating and advancing food security on Bowen. BAA puts on community workshops, supports bee initiatives and hosts monthly seasonal farmers' markets, at which BICS students sell produce grown in the school garden.
