Bowen needs more BEARS
Bowen Emergency Amateur Radio Services (BEARS) are looking for more radio operators. When there is an emergency and communications are down, ham radio can usually get you in contact with authorities, services, friends or family. If you would like to be involved in the on-island emergency group, or want to get a ham licence for boating, a challenge or just for fun, then act now. The North Shore Amateur Radio Club offers a course in North Vancouver starting Saturday, January 12. Please contact tom.dunn@shaw.ca for more info or visit www.nsarc.ca/training/main.html.For more info about the Bowen set-up, please call Bill Brown at 604 -831-8282.
