Spring clean-up
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, is the day you can get rid of old household junk courtesy Bowen Waste services at the annual Spring Clean-Up. Take your junk to the parking area outside the gate of BIRD on Mt. Gardner Rd. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It’s free and typically stuff people get rid of are old mattresses, bed frames or other furniture no longer functional, boxes and old appliances. Hazardous materials such as paints and turpentine will be accepted the following Saturday, the 21st, at the Free Paint Recycling and Hazardous Waste Disposal Day at the Building Centre from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Bowen Waste has been providing the service for some 19 years now. In addition to the traditional spring clean-up in April and the fall clean-up in October, Bowen Waste now also has a clean-up day in July. Details are on the municipality’s website at www.bimbc.ca.
