Do you know someone deserving of the annual award?
BC Medal of Good Citizenship
B.C. Medal of Good Citizenship honours community members that show generosity, kindness and selflessness.

COVID-19 has been challenging for all, but for some, it’s brought out the best.

Nominations for the B.C. Medal of Good Citizenship are now open for the 2021 honour.

The province is encouraging residents to recognize someone in a community who demonstrated the values of generosity, kindness and selflessness, without expectation of reward, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This important honour recognizes people who have gone above and beyond to offer help and kindness to others during these exceptionally challenging times,” said Premier John Horgan in a statement.

“[...] recipients of the Medal of Good Citizenship make our province a better place through their contributions and provide an example we can all aspire to meet in our communities.”

To submit a nomination, you can visit the Medal’s page on the provincial government’s website.

The nomination period has also been extended to Sept. 19, 2021, and those not specific to COVID-19 will be considered in 2022.
