“I won I won I won!”

These were the first words a Surrey resident shouted when she found out she won $166,666.70 in the Daily Grand draw on Aug. 19.

Zenaida Torino had matched five out of five numbers from the Daily Grand draw and is splitting the $500,000 with two other ticket holders.

She said the win will help making travelling easier, and that she is considering a “slightly early retirement.”

“We are very happy as a family right now.”

Torino’s ticket was purchased from the Central city Lottery Ticket Centre on King George Blvd. and had called in to BCLC on her day off to see if she had won anything.

“I called and listened to the voice reading the numbers… I was getting more and more excited as they continued to read,” said Torino, adding that she was felt “excitement and happiness.”

“My husband didn't believe me so I checked it again on the Lotto! App.”

She purchased a car for her daughter with some of her prize and plans to invest a portion as well.
