Police incident at Metrotown Station 'safely resolved': RCMP

A police incident has closed the Metrotown SkyTrain station.

The police incident at Metrotown Station has been "safely resolved", according to Burnaby RCMP. 

TransLink says regular service has resumed. 

2:50 p.m.

Burnaby RCMP says the incident at Metrotown Station is ongoing. 

"There is no risk to the public. Please avoid the area," a social media post stated. 

12:05 p.m.

Burnaby Mounties are asking people to avoid the Metrotown SkyTrain station due to an ongoing police incident. 

Metro Vancouver Transit Police and Burnaby RCMP are both on scene. 

No other details have been released. 

TransLink says there is no SkyTrain service currently at Royal Oak, Metrotown or Patterson stations. Extra bus service is in place at the impacted stations. 

"Expo Line customers travelling westbound will have to transfer to bus service at Edmonds Station, and Expo Line customers travelling eastbound will have to transfer to bus service at Joyce–Collingwood station to continue their journeys," a transit service alert reads. 

"Extra staff are in place at all impacted stations to direct customers." 

Millennium and Canada Line services are unaffected.
