Have you met Bowen's newest Mountie?

Maya Arreaga named him Cpl. Moosie.

There’s a new corporal in town.

He’s tall, dark, wooden features and has a great rack of antlers.

When Cpl. Paulo Arreaga and his family leave this summer, Cpl. Moosie, named by Arreaga’s daughter Maya, will stick around, standing opposite the other Bowen wooden Mountie at the Bowen RCMP office.

Soren Hammerberg donated the moose and Arreaga restored him (the moose, not Soren).

Cpl. Moosie will watch over the transition between Arreaga and Bowen’s new detachment supervisor in early summer.
