Clarification: An earlier version of this story said the average daily case rate was three without noting that it was three out of 100,000.The community health service area of Bowen Island / Lions Bay is a mere 5,000 -odd people, which makes the case rate far higher than the actual number of cases in the area.

The average daily rate of COVID-19 cases increased to three out of 100,000 in Bowen Island/Lions Bay. Almost nine in ten adults aged 50 or over (86%) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with just over four in five (81%) of those over the age of 18.
