The provincial coronavirus health orders concerning personal and organized gatherings are returning to normal with some safety precautions in place.

Effective Feb. 16 at 11:59 p.m., indoor personal gatherings will see a return to normal. Previously, indoor personal gatherings were limited to your household plus 10 visitors or one other household.

Indoor and outdoor organized gatherings will also return to full capacity, with dancing allowed. Attendees to organized gatherings must continue to wear masks and show BC Vaccine Cards, however. Couples hoping to tie the knot, families looking to hold funeral receptions, and companies planning on hosting large celebratory events will now be able to do so.

Prior to the announcement, indoor organized gatherings of any size were not allowed, which included sponsored or ticketed parties and celebrations as well as wedding and funeral receptions.

Indoor seating events will also return to full capacity with the BC Vaccine Card program in place and face masks.

Incremental easing of restrictions and orders will commence in mid-February, with the remaining COVID-19 public health measures reviewed in mid-March and  mid-April.

Individuals and organizations should continue to assess risks and determine their comfort zones in planning for changes. The B.C. government expects people and organizations to go at their own pace.
