As vaccinations in B.C. ramp up with numbers set to pass the half-million threshold, Vancouver Coastal Health has opened up another vaccination day on Bowen Island.
The third on-island vaccine clinic will be Saturday, April 10 between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Mass vaccinations started on island last Friday and continue this Friday.
Bowen Islanders born in 1951 or earlier or Indigenous people born in 1966 or earlier are eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. (But it is best to check the Vancouver Coastal Health website for information as it changes frequently.)
Because of travel constraints and Bowen's smaller population, vaccination eligibility follows a different schedule than the mainland Metro regions. (In West and North Vancouver as of March 20 they're inviting 79+ to register.)
Eligible islanders are to call VCH’s appointment booking phone line at 1-877-587-5767 to register for an appointment and are to have on hand, a pen and paper, personal health number, full name, date of birth, postal code and phone number.
