VCH offering COVID vaccines at North Van’s Shipyards

Drop-in clinic to offer first and second doses July 19-23 at the Pipe Shop
The Shipyards
Vancouver Coastal Health will be holding a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic July 19-23 at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver's popular Shipyards District.

Vancouver Coastal Health is bringing COVID-19 vaccines to North Vancouver’s premier public plaza in hopes of wooing in stragglers and fence-sitters who haven’t yet been immunized to the potentially deadly virus.

According to the most recent stats, 79.3 per cent of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 47.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.

VCH chose the Shipyards District because it is a hot spot for young adults and families. First doses will be offered to anyone 12 and over in the Pipe Shop. If there is capacity, second doses will also be available on a drop-in basis for those who received their first dose at least seven weeks ago.

The pop-up/drop-in clinic will be open on the following dates and times:

Monday, July 19: 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 20: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Wednesday, July 21: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Thursday, July 22: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Friday, July 23: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

VCH has set up a similar clinic at Vancouver's Trout Lake Farmers Market for Saturday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone who plans to attend should wear a short sleeved shirt and be prepared to wait for 15 minutes afterwards for monitoring. Those who want to sign up the old fashioned way should visit www.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated
