Alexander Trimble is due back in court on Sept. 7.

Two months after a man accused of murder in his brother’s stabbing death, his lawyers are still waiting for document disclosure from the Crown, Vancouver provincial court Judge David St. Pierre heard Aug. 17.

On June 6, the BC Prosecution Service approved the second-degree murder charge against Alexander Trimble, 27, in connection with the death of Zachary Trimble.

Alexander Trimble was arrested June 5 after Vancouver police responded to reports of an assault at a home near Bruce Street and East 49th Avenue. The call came in shortly before 3 a.m. Once on scene, police discovered a 23-year-old man badly injured outside the house. He later died from his injuries.

Alexander Trimble remains in custody at North Fraser Pretrial Centre.

Crown prosecutor Phillip Sebellin told the court the bulk of disclosure is about to be sent to the defence team.

Lawyer Kevin Westell is defending Trimble.

Family members continue to occupy two rows of courtroom seats for Alexander Trimble’s court appearance.

Some 13 family members attended the hearing, seeing Alexander Trimble on a video screen. He's due back in court Sept. 7.
