Are you $7,000 poorer?

If you recently misplaced seven grand in North Vancouver, today could be your lucky day.

North Vancouver RCMP say a good Samaritan has turned in the cash, and police are trying to find the rightful owner.

"To claim it, you must explain when, where and how it was lost," police said on social media. "General guesses won’t cut it. Call 604-985-1311 and quote file #25-11996."

In the past, RCMP have received dozens of calls with people making guesses in hopes of claiming lost cash.

But police have warned that such false claims could amount to fraud, and urge only the rightful owner to call in.
