It’s not every day that you see a cloud in the shape of a giant chicken — but one Vancouver resident captured a photograph of exactly that.
Leslie Hurtig was walking with her family to dinner around 6:30 p.m. on Friday when she spotted the cloud.
"I turned around to look at my kids and spotted the chicken on the horizon,” she told Glacier Media during an interview.
She said the giant chicken’s eyes and beak were clearly visible over the Cambie Village neighbourhood.
“It seems to be looming over the houses and the distance,” says Hurtig, who jumped on social media to share the photograph, with the caption 'Take cover, Vancouver! The giant chickens are on the loose!’
Her post has garnered more than 800 likes and 50,000 views on Twitter. She says lots of people have messaged to thank her.
“[It] was light-hearted and kind of fun,” she says. "Lots of people coming up with alternate stories about that chicken.”
One person even shared a giant bear cloud photograph and a wolf tree from nature.
“Always be on the lookout for beauty in the world,” she says. “All clouds have silver linings.”
This isn't the first animal cloud that Hurtig has observed. She previously saw a salmon cloud above Savary Island.
