A Vancouver man accused of sexually assaulting three teens could face three separate trials.
It’s alleged the man sexually assaulted a person between July 1, 2007 and Sept. 30, 2010. He’s further charged with touching that person for a sexual purpose when they were under 14.
The man is charged with sexually assaulting a second person between May 1, 2008 and June 24, 2020. He faces a charge for touching that individual for a sexual purpose when they were under 16, and for sexually touching a person when he was in a position of trust or authority.
In the third situation, he’s charged with sexually assaulting and sexually touching a person, again under 16, between Jan. 1, 2020 and Nov. 25, 2020.
On Sept. 28, the man's lawyer Guillaume Garih told B.C. Supreme Court Justice Carla Forth he would be making a severance application. That means, explained Crown prosecutor Daniel Pruim, that there would be three separate trials, one for each complainant.
That application is set to be heard Feb. 28.
He is not in custody.
