- Lego Contest -create a farm or garden-inspired lego creation, from the past, present, or your imagination and explain how you were inspired to create it -youth only
- Fiber Arts Finest -finest handknit/crocheted/spun/felted creation (extra points if you use any locally-sourced fibers, or did any of the dyeing with local ingredients Please explain the inspiration for the piece and what it is made of) -adults/youth
- Slug Races will run at 12:45 and 1:15 pm at the Country Fair Tent! Adults and youth welcome to bring a racing slug and slug race bribe (ex. A piece of lettuce). Slugs that interfere with other racing slugs during a race will be disqualified. No snails allowed! Racing slugs from Bowen-only allowed! Slugs must be returned to the wild after the race.
How to enter the Bowfest Country Fair Contests:
If you are attending the fair on Sat. August 27 you can enter in the Bowfest Country Fair Contests at no extra charge! Bring your photos/stories/creations/racing slugs to the Country Fair Tent 11am-12:30pm
- Put your name/phone/age on the back of each entry (except slugs.)
- Public voting takes place 12:30-1:30, Judging takes place 1:30-2pm.
- Awards announced approx. 2pm
- Adult (19+), Youth (under 19 years old)
- Please pick-up your entries and ribbons 2:30-3:00pm.
The Bowfest Country Fair & Mini Farmers Market is run by volunteers from BAA (the Bowen Agricultural Alliance) in support of Bowfest and its great community traditions! A special thanks to Kevin Harding for volunteering as the youth judge for the lego contest!
