On Sunday, September 30, or on Sunday, October 7, from noon to 2, Bowen Island children aged 5 to 12 are invited to join a free workshop to learn how to make a windowsill garden. Instructor Brent Carline at the Bowen Heritage Demonstration Garden (behind Cottage 20 in the Davies Heritage Orchard) will show participants how to plant three different herbs that they can take home, watch the seeds sprout, and in just a few short weeks, taste what they've grown. Learn about the soil needed, the wisest way to water, and the best place to put herbs to grow at home.

To register, email [email protected]. Please include the child's name, age, and preferred session date. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants.

The workshop is sponsored by Bowen Heritage (www.bowenheritage.org) and supported by a Vancity Community Project Grant.
