A distinguished panel of local, pie-loving judges is looking forward to the feast and will decide on the winning entry and a runner-up.
Applefest is a free family-friendly event, sponsored by Bowen Heritage. It welcomes islanders and visitors to the Davies Heritage Orchard from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for displays (heritage apples, bee culture, pollination), sales of apple pies (Thanksgiving dessert), heritage-apple tastings, games, music, and the Best Bowen Apple Pie Contest.
