Carol Fancy says that she has been growing her hair for eight years so that it would be long enough for a couple of wigs for women with cancer.
“I heard on CBC radio that women that had had grey hair wanted grey hair back.”
This was enough to spur the grey-haired grandmother to grow her hair to help other women.
“I thought, if I grow it twice as long, I can make 2 wigs.”
Each donation must be eight inches long and Fancy waves the long grey ponytail in her hand.
“I think it’s enough,” she says. Ever dynamic, and full of ideas, the bald woman says she wants to do something for another organization next.
“Now I’d like to find a way to do something for Alzheimer’s.”
