Movie night with Fawnfare a success

I first discovered the band Said the Whale for a pretty mundane reason- I went to their concert to try and become friends with a girl from school without even really listening to their music.

I first discovered the band Said the Whale for a pretty mundane reason- I went to their concert to try and become friends with a girl from school without even really listening to their music. Obviously I had the right idea about who to be friends with as I discovered over the course of that night that she had pretty good taste in music.

For three years I tracked the band's progress and on Wednesday night, my years of fandom and research culminated in a movie night held at The Gallery @ Artisan Square. It turned out to be a great night but it could never have been possible without the help of a few special people.

A huge thanks must be given first to Cordell Wynn who lent his services as a projectionist and technician (not to mention lending us the actual projector), Simon James for lending us his screen, Brent Hodge for allowing us to use his film and for coming over to Bowen to speak a bit and enjoy the night with everyone else, Fawnfare for coming out and playing sweet tunes (their music always reminds me so much of home), and Jacqueline Massey who provided endless support throughout the process.

Thanks again to everyone who came out and made it such a success!
