On Saturday, July 16 at 10 am, 60 swimmers will take to the water in Tunstall Bay for the 1500 and 750 metre courses for SwimBowen’s 3rd annual event. Registrants are coming from as far away as California and Washington State, Pender Island, Squamish and all over the Lower Mainland.
To date swimmers, donors and sponsors have raised a record breaking $35,500 for Bowen Island’s Cancer Care Fund assisting residents in active cancer treatment. Amazing!
Swimmers, please note that event changes close at 6 pm on Thursday, July 14. No event changes will be accepted after this time. Please email [email protected] if you wish to change your event distance.
Swimmer check-in is from 8:30-9:30 am on event day at Tunstall Bay Beach. Please be on time, the event kicks off at 10 am! Please print and complete your waiver before leaving home. At check-in, you will submit your completed waiver and receive a numbered swim cap. We will mark your hand with your race number.
You can pick up your SwimBuddy if pre-ordered during your online registration. Didn’t pre-order but you would like a SwimBuddy? No problem! We will have SwimBuddys on site for sale for $65, cash only. 50 per cent of proceed go to the Cancer Care Fund.
We will confirm your estimated swim time for your chosen course. You must check in yourself. A friend cannot check in for you. Failure to check-in during above times will result in entry being cancelled. There will be no race day registration available.
This year we have a beach shoe gear check. Hurray! Crates will be available at the start line for swimmers to store their beach shoes before entry and upon exit of swim!

Course Markings
1500m Swimmers will follow the large 750m triangle route 2 times, passing the 3 orange sighting buoys, keeping sighting buoys on your right.
750m Swimmers will follow the 750m triangle route 1 time only in a clockwise direction. You will pass 2 large sighting buoys while keeping the buoys on your right.
