Remembering the Apple Tree

Ceremony for the United Church's tree on April 20

Many of you know that our beloved Apple Tree at Bowen Island United Church has gone to its final resting place.

The tree held many memories for Islanders of all ages. It was climbed by children, provided shade for many a Strawberry Tea and various outdoor events and was simply a beautiful old Bowen icon.

As stewards of this treasured tree, Bowen Island United Church invites the community to gather around the remnant of our tree at 6:45 pm on Saturday, April 20. We’ll tell some stories, share memories and then head into Collins Hall at 7:15 and be entertained by a Bowen Island star studded line up.

Admission is by donation and there will be a concession and perhaps a few surprises.

If you can’t make the event, but would like to help support our overall project of removing and replacing the tree, please send an e-transfer to [email protected]

We do hope that many of you will join us as we honour the Apple Tree and share dreams and visions of what will come next in the yard of Bowen Island United Church, a place where all are welcome. Always.
