As Cappy and I walked down the corridor toward his office at Boston University, I began to feel a bit intimidated after all, I was about to have my first meeting with the great Isaac Asimov, who even in 1964 was dauntingly famous. I needn't have worried because as soon as we got within earshot, the clatter of his portable typewriter stopped and he began one of his famous limericks (he wrote about a 1000 in his lifetime) and Cap Weston and I almost doubled up with laughter. This was a very funny man.
Isaac Asimov, though most famous for his science fiction, actually wrote about 10 books of humor, mostly only suitable for men's clubs where he was a very popular and very expensive after-dinner speaker. On Monday January 6, at 11 a.m., the subject of the talk at SKY will be the man who managed to write over 500 books in his lifetime. Joan Anastasiou will talk about Isaac Asimov's literature and I will talk about his life and his science. Come one, come all to Bowen Court on Millers Road.
