The bus drivers for Bowen Island Community Transit will be letting riders on for free on June 6th in order to celebrate the service’s 15th anniversary. Owner and operator Peter King says he would like to work towards a situation where every day could be a fare-free day for people looking to ride the bus on Bowen Island.

"Our municipality pays $1.4 million to Translink every year, with only $565,000 of that going back into our local transit services," says King. "I believe we could increase ridership without fees, if our service were re-structured correctly."
