Exactly four weeks to go before the election on October 20 and Bowen Island Municipality is holding their all-candidates meeting in the community school gym.
The Undercurrent will be live streaming the festivities Saturday, September 29, from our Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/BIUndercurrent/) and if the internet cuts out (which happens) Bronwyn Beairsto will keep you updated on our website:

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. While most questions for candidates will be part of a pre-selected list, two questions for mayoral and council candidates respectively will be selected from the door, and one question for the Island Trust candidates. These questions must be submitted by 2 p.m.
At 2:05 p.m. the school trustee candidates will be introduced. There are eight and all but one is from West Vancouver (the other is from Lyons Bay.)
At 2:20 p.m. the mayoral candidates, current councillors Melanie Mason and Gary Ander, will have up to three minutes each to introduce themselves. This is followed by a 15-minute Q&A session (one minute per answer) and two-minute closing remarks.
At (around) 2:50 p.m. the councillor candidates will take the stage. Robin Burger, Sue Ellen Fast, David Hocking, Michael Kaile, Alison Morse, Maureen Nicholson, Lawrence Philips, Peter Williamson and Rob Wynen will have two minutes each to introduce themselves. This is followed by an hour-long Q&A with one minute per answer per question.
The four Islands Trust nominees will have a 10-minute Q&A, followed by all nine councillor candidates’ concluding remarks.
Following the event we’ll have a full write-up of everyone’s remarks.
