Harbour Air's tours to Bowen are back: when can islanders book seats?

If there are unsold seats on a flight tour, the general public will have the chance to book their ticket to or from the island

COVID-19 cancelled a lot, including Harbour Air’s visits to Bowen Island. But if you’ve had your fill of full ferries, have no fear (sort of).

Harbour Air has re-launched its tour that brings passengers from Vancouver to Snug Cove for a lovely local dinner. If there are unsold seats the morning of the tour’s flight, the seaplane airline will release the seats at 8 a.m.

The flights run 6 p.m. from Vancouver to Bowen (for $59) and 6:30 p.m. Bowen to Vancouver (for $39).

“It’s a bit of a lottery as to whether or not there will be seats released on any given morning,” said David Perry, the airline’s flight operations manager, in an email.

The number of passengers per flight (and the number of seats made available for a commute) varies depending on demand and if they use the six-passenger Beaver aircraft or 14-passenger Single Otter.
