It seems hard to believe that Knick Knack Nook, Bowen Island's Re-Use-It Store is approaching its 4th Anniversary. As we move into our 5th year we have much to be thankful for: a fabulous team of volunteers, the enormous support of the Bowen Community through their generous donations and the amazing commitment of our customers to reduce, reuse, recycle, renew and rethink.
With the community's growing support and the increasing volume of donations, we need to recruit additional volunteers. Where else can you meet friends and neighbours while supporting environmental and social sustainability and have a good time! We especially need additional volunteers on the weekends, Thursday afternoons and Tuesday mornings (when the store is closed for sorting and display). Volunteers with time flexibility are also required on an 'on call' basis. If you are able to donate 3-4 hours a week please fill out a Volunteer Registration Form at the store or on line.
On another note, to support our volunteers, please ensure that your donation to KKN is clean and mended. This makes the task more pleasurable for the volunteers and ensures improved air quality in the store.
Join us, as the Nook moves forward into its 5th year of providing an option on Bowen to live more sustainably.
