The Village Square on Bowen Island is still up for sale and Island community builder Wolfgang Duntz, a co-owner with the Gunter Hahne family in Germany, said that the group is now seeking a real estate developer to handle the sale.
Duntz said that such a sale is complicated and he himself is not able to, nor does he desire to, handle the transaction. The ownership group is looking to hire a realtor from Vancouver, he said, one with the requisite experience in the sale of such properties. That process is underway.
There have been inquiries about the property but nothing came of them, Duntz said. He added that talk of the sale being connected to the new OCP was "totally false." The sale has come about because Mr. Hahne recently died and family members now jointly owning the square would like to sell.
Duntz said he has a 20 per cent stake in the property.
