A mechanical issue on the Queen of Capilano has caused the cancellation of the rest of Sunday's sailings.
BC Ferries first sent out a notice just after 1 p.m. May 9, advising that the ferry was holding in dock at Bowen Island due to a problem with the emergency generator. The ferry ran a couple more sailings after that before cancelling sailings starting at 4:35 p.m.
Just before 8 p.m., the ferry service announced the Queen of Cap wouldn't be returning to Bowen tonight.
"A water taxi service is in place to supplement travel between Horseshoe Bay and Snug Cove for the remainder of the operational day," said the service notice. "We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this cancellation."
Five Queen of Capilano sailings were also cancelled Saturday as the ferry had some maintenance done overnight.
