Bullet shell casings were found in Maillardville on Sept. 15, 2022, as Coquitlam RCMP investigate the sixth known shooting of the year.

A shooting "between two vehicles" in Maillardville is under investigation, and Mounties are turning to the public for help.

Coquitlam RCMP responded to reports of a shooting after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 15) near the intersection of Hart Street and Henderson Avenue, but there were no suspects found and no arrests made.

Later that evening, police explained shell casings were found in the 600-block Roderick Avenue — located two blocks west of the initial call.

The alleged drive-by shooting, witnesses said, involved a white SUV and a dark-coloured sedan with noticeable damage to the side-view mirror.

Now, with lead on the case, the local detachment's investigational support team is asking for dashcam, CCTV and general video of the sixth known shooting of 2022 in the city to date.
