If you’re travelling between Bowen and town Saturday, give yourself a little extra time.

The GranFondo is happening Saturday and participants will cycle between downtown Vancouver and Whistler, which will mean traffic delays.

"BC Ferries suggests customers allow enough travel time to arrive at the terminal before the scheduled sailing of their choice. The potentially affected sailings for Bowen Island include the 6:20 a.m., 7:30 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. runs," reads a press release.

The Stanley Park Causeway and north bound lane on the Lions Gate Bridge will be closed between 5:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. The east bound lanes of the Upper Levels Highway will be closed from Horseshoe Bay to Taylor Way from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. East bound traffic will be redirected through West Vancouver on Marine Drive.

“Trucks disembarking from these sailings that are more than 20m in length and 40,000 Kg GVW heading eastbound will be held on Highway 1 at Exit 0 until 9:30 a.m.” reads the BC Ferries press release. “Drivers of these commercial vehicles may wish to consider taking an alternate sailing.”
