The Bowen Island Municipality is seeking the community's input on services available on Bowen Island and how tax dollars are spent. Bowen households are being asked to complete the BIM 2012 Householders' Survey online, one per household. A link to the survey can be found at www.bimbc.ca.

"Citizens' input will be useful as we prepare our Five Year Financial Plan for 2013-2017 and evaluate competing demands for our tax dollars," said Karen Blow, the municipality's chief financial officer.

Councillor Alison Morse indicated that "when we were developing the survey we looked at what other municipalities did and have modeled Bowen's survey after one done by the district of Saanich for the past 12 years."

The municipality will be posting the survey results on the BIM website in August. The responses are anonymous and will be reported in group format only.

Members of the public are encouraged to complete the survey online. However, if they do not have access to a computer and would prefer to complete a paper version, please contact municipal hall at 604-947-4255 to get a paper copy.

If you have any questions about accessing the survey, please call the municipal hall at 604-947-4255 or email [email protected].

The deadline for completing the survey is July 3.
