Speak up about transit

TransLink is asking for input to develop the North Shore area transit plan.

TransLink is asking for input to develop the North Shore area transit plan. In planning the future of the transit network from Deep Cove to Lions Bay and Bowen Island, it moves to a new stage in the coming weeks that include community events throughout the North Shore. An information session on Bowen Island is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Snug Cove General Store.

The planning process has already taken the input of stakeholders, elected officials and the general public into account in an effort to define the vision for the transit network through 2040. Possible projects that fit with that vision were identified and a system for evaluating and prioritizing the projects was also determined. The public consultation will gather feedback on 13 projects.

TransLink envisions this as the last round of consultation before developing the final list of transit and infrastructure priorities for the North Shore. The consultation has two components: the online consultation, (from May 18 to June 15) and face-to-face community events. Community members are invited to study the plan and the proposed projects, ask questions and give comments. The online questionnaire can be found at www.translink.ca/nsatp. Comments can also be sent by email to [email protected] or submitted at the information events.
