Spring is here, the birds and the links are calling! The Bowen Island Women’s League is starting up another season of golf with a coffee party at the Clubhouse on Thursday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. This is a shout out to all women golfers of every level. We’ll have goodies, conversation and a look at the season ahead. Consider bringing your clubs and getting in a round afterward.
Our league guarantees that you will have fun as you get some regular games in and make new and meet old friends on the island. We play nine holes every Thursday morning rain or shine from April through September. That is twenty-five weeks of playing together. We try to mix it up and get you out with different players each week with a variety of game formats from serious to downright silly designed to improve your play and your enjoyment of the game. Our members are a social and supportive group. Your $75 for the season gets you a coffee party, six months of organized games, gift certificates, trophies and a wind up luncheon and awards ceremony in September.
Opening Day is Thursday, April 9 and we’ll be playing Best Ball. If you are interested in playing but can’t make the coffee party, call Susan Alexander at 2247. Some of us stick around to play a back nine after our lunch at the Cup Cutter.
New players are always welcome to join our women’s league. For dedicated golfers, we have an Interclub team that plays four tournaments with different clubs, our own internal match play tourney and a friendly annual competition with the Gleneagles Women’s Division. Truly something for every player.
Come and check us out this Thursday morning. We look forward to seeing you. For more information, call Susan or Jane Kellett at 0771.
