BC Ferries has confirmed the two runs a week that it’s dropping from the Queen of Capilano service: Tuesday and Sunday 7 p.m. from Snug Cove and 7:30 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay. The changes come into effect June 16.

The service reduction is part of a system-wide adjustment. BC Ferries is removing sailings that are above its contracted service levels with the province as traffic and profits are significantly down due to COVID-19.

The new schedule says that it's in effect June 16 until March 31, 2021 and the late-night sailing isn't included.

“Additional sailings that were added to address peak travel demand in prior years will not be scheduled this year,” said the press release Friday. “BC Ferries has been working closely with the Ferry Advisory Committees to make these changes in a manner that has the least possible impact on ferry-dependent communities.”

Other routes affected by these adjustments include Quadra-Campbell River, Quadra-Cortes, Buckley Bay-Denman, Denman-Hornby, Crofton-Vesuvius, Gabriola-Nanaimo, Comox-Powell River, Powell River-Texada, Saltery Bay-Earls Cove and between the two Haida Gwaii main islands.
