Road Rage: a response

Dear Editor: I am coming at the issue from both a standard transmission driver and a retired judge.

Dear Editor:

I am coming at the issue from both a standard transmission driver and a retired judge. Learn to use the emergency brake when on an incline: engage first gear, start to accelerate and when you start to move forward let the brake off, being careful not to do any wheelies! Good for all sorts of predicaments.

As for the rage, there is a section in the Criminal Code about “causing a disturbance by shouting, swearing” etc.  It is unlikely a police officer would recommend charges, or a prosecutor would approve them (our courts would be inundated!) but still, reporting it would create a record and if there were a history or anything particularly egregious, the adult displaying such poor behaviour might get started down the road of state-imposed rehabilitation, certainly starting with public humiliation and shame.

Maya Angelou said you can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle three things: lost luggage, rainy days and tangled (strings of) lights. She’s never been to Bowen so we could probably change the rainy days to getting bumped on the ferry.
