Squamish RCMP is warning women about a man who has been exposing himself to females in the district's downtown core.

Over the last several weeks, Squamish RCMP has received multiple reports of this happening, a news release sent out Saturday evening stated.

These incidents are believed to have happened over the last month and the man appears to expose his genitals to women, who are on their own, during the early evening and early morning hours.

The man is described as approximately 6'2" with a large build, darker skin, a curly short beard and mustache.

Police say the man may have changed his appearance, including his hairstyle and facial hair.

According to the release, police are following up on multiple leads and have stepped up patrols in the downtown area.

"We are wanting to encourage women to be aware of their surroundings when around downtown Squamish, when they are by themselves, and report anything suspicious immediately to police," said Sgt. Sascha Banks in the release.

Anyone with any information about these incidents or the identity of the man is asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
