Alex Kurial

Alex Kurial is editor at the Bowen Island Undercurrent. His background is primarily in sports and courts and he now covers a little bit of everything while navigating island life.

Alex was born in Vancouver and raised in Richmond. He received a History Major and Journalism Minor from the University of Victoria before entering the Master of Journalism program at Carleton University in Ottawa. Alex has previously worked at newspapers in Prince Rupert and Southwestern Ontario.

In his spare time Alex enjoys exploring new places, painting miniatures, playing cards and continuing the endless task of completing his state and provincial quarter collections. He also enjoys a good horror movie.

Story ideas and tips are always in Alex's wheelhouse and can be submitted to [email protected]. You can find Alex's work, along with his hot football takes, on Twitter at https://twitter.com/akurial
