There was no ta-da moment on Saturday when Parks Canada unveiled its preliminary concept for a national park on Bowen Island.

BC Ferries’ Queen of Capilano returns to service in the afternoon of March 3, restoring regular vehicle capacity to the Horseshoe Bay – Bowen Island route, following an extensive two-month major refit.

Over the course of the next few weeks and months residents from the Bowen Island Community can expect to see investigators from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team on the island making additional inquiries in the disappearance of Squamish teen

Two open houses will be held in the week ahead to give the public its first look at a preliminary park concept for proposed national park reserve lands on Bowen Island.

There is a big problem with rats on Cates Hill and elsewhere on Bowen. Residents are reporting rats are nesting and chewing in all manner of places, especially car engines and other areas of their cars.

If council is going to stick to its resolve to not increase property taxes by more than three per cent, while at the same time adding to reserves instead of depleting them, then cuts are going to be necessary.
