Campbell River’s only bowling alley will remain open with just a pool room out of service after a truck crashed through its front doors on Friday afternoon.

“There was a good amount of damage [but] it’s just the portion in the pool room,” said Ryley Konkle, an employee at C.R. Bowling & Billiards.

Bowling lanes were unaffected and there are still pool tables available for use, he said.

Security video from a nearby store obtained by CHEK News shows a pickup truck travelling east on Peterson Road colliding another pickup truck in the intersection before coming to a stop by going into the front doors of the bowling alley.

B.C. Emergency Health Services said in a statement paramedics received a call regarding the motor vehicle incident shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday and responded with two ambulances.

One person at the incident was cared for and transported to hospital by paramedics.
