On Saturday morning, Fort St John RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 in Charlie Lake.

Police discovered that a truck and a pickup truck had collided head-on. The driver of the Ford Ranger pickup, an adult woman, was deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi was uninjured.

The pickup was headed north when it crossed over into the opposing lane of traffic and collided with the semi. While causal factors are yet to be determined, police do not believe there to be any criminality involved. The investigation is ongoing.
