Fun fundraiser for Colin Ruloff Community Field House

Island Pacific School held their annual Monsoon Madness Mudder last Saturday, drawing dozens of participants to the obstacle course race which acts as a colourful fundraiser for the newly built Colin Ruloff Community Field House at the school.

The covered area is already getting substantial use, including serving as an ending point, live music spot, and hang-out spot during the Mudder. The Bowen Island Fire Department plays an important role during the day sounding the fire truck horn to send each group on their way and spraying down the runners when they return to the finish line. Mayor Andrew Leonard also took part in the ceremonial ringing of the gong to start each race, and Jazzercise Bowen had everyone up and dancing to warm up for the course.

Various fundraising efforts for the Field House will continue throughout the school year.
