Rewarding Run for Rwanda

Bowen's 12th Rotary Run for Rwanda fundraiser kicked off Bowfest Saturday

What a great day it was! The 12th annual Rotary Run for Rwanda introduced the Bowfest Day with a flourish. Every year has its particular highlights and this year was no exception.

There were so many families out running and walking together in the 5K run/walk – parents and their children, grandparents and dogs – everyone had a great time, and once again the weather smiled on us.

Many thanks to our volunteers and to our financial sponsors: Presman Wealth, Frits de Vries, Dr. Gloria Chao, Bowen Island Properties, Barbara Wahler, Allard & Amanda Ockeloen; to our prize sponsors: Kintec, USSC, Phoenix, Cates Pharmacy, Lululemon; and finally, our edibles sponsors: Snug Cove General Store, Ruddy Potato, Snug Café, Artisan Eats and Savary Island Pie Co.

Thanks to these sponsors, to generous donors and to participants in the run/walk, we are able to raise substantial funds for our charity, Komera Canada, that supports young women in their efforts to complete their education in rural Rwanda.

The Rotary Club of Bowen Island is grateful to you all!
