On November 6, penniless ex-council members Peter Frinton and David Wrinch cruised the ferry line-up asking for spare change. “ After all of this service to the municipality, neither of us has a pension,” explained Frinton.

Last year, three committed grade 8 IPS students dreamed up an idea of how they could raise money to send their penpals, who live at the Royal Seed Orphanage in Ghana, to secondary high school.

Bowen Islanders are known for their generosity. Time and time again, they give whatever they can to help someone, or some group, in need of financial assistance. Donor fatigue can be a challenge, though.

You are invited to the Rotary Variety Show, a fundraiser put on by the Rotary Club of Bowen Island.

Dr. Shona Kowetcky grew up in small town Ontario surrounded by horses, cats and dogs. Now, for three days a week, the recent graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College will be offering her services on Bowen Island alongside Dr.

It’s nearly Movember, the month formerly known as November. In this month, men around the world will begin to sprout mustaches in the name of men’s health – particularly prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
