What’s a sensitive writer to do with his poetry? Why, put it in boxes, of course. At least this one did: for 50-odd years; plays and essays and novels too.

Gradually more folks who are interested in art are learning about an ancient method for carrying pigment generally referred to as encaustic. Better known of course is that water or oil are used as carriers.

After a huge success last Saturday with the Triology concert kicking off the second annual Summer Sessions, the Bowen Island Arts Council (BIAC) will bring more live music starting this Saturday from 3 p.m.

Triology’s concert sponsored by BIAC at the Art Gallery on Saturday, July 5, was superb and worthy of the packed-house reception.

From four year olds adorned in fluffy blue tutus to seasoned dancers swathed in elegant dress, the talented students of Bowen Island Perform Art Studios wowed the audience over and over again with their choreography, energy and music.

Three respected and influential artists with reputations as some of Canada’s finest jazz musicians will kick off the opening concert for the 2nd Annual Summer Sessions.

Thanks one and all for all the love and support over the last four years. All though I'm closing, I am venturing forward with my new unusual animated musical art form "moireism" along with my usual realism paintings.

Over the past 7 years, local artist Rob Wall has developed his unique style for realism based on the incredible beauty of Bowen and his experience of living and raising his family here for 24 years.
