Bob and Susan Pratt's daughter, Lauren Pratt, has launched a GoFundMe campaign for her parents who lost their home in a fire Thursday afternoon

The well-known Bowen Islanders many may know Bob from the Ruddy Potato and Susan from Fabulous Finds lost a lifetime of belongings and family heirlooms, their daughter said in the GoFundMe post. They heartbreakingly also lost their beloved cat Keiko.

"My parents are very private and would never ask anyone for help, so I'm going to do it for them instead," writes Lauren. "They're kind, loving and compassionate people that do their best to help everyone close to them and in the community.

"This tragic event has left them homeless without a clear idea as to what their lives will look like from now on.

"Any donations you can offer to help lessen the load on rebuilding their lives would be appreciated beyond measure," writes Lauren. "My parents have a long road ahead of them and will have to overcome a considerable financial burden to regain a semblance of their old lives."

The GoFundMe has so far raised $22,225 of its $40,000 goal.

Islanders can also leave cheques with Wendy at First Credit Union.
