Kids COVID vaccine clinic coming to Bowen on Saturday, August 13

Bowen Island Community School will cost a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for kids aged four months to 11 years on Saturday, August 13. Bronwyn Beairsto

Vancouver Coastal Health is hosting a COVID vaccine clinic for kids aged six months to 11 years-old this Saturday, August 13 at the Bowen Island Community School. 

First doses will be available for kids from six months to four years, and first or second doses for kids aged five to 11 years-old. 

The clinic will run from 10 am to 4 pm. While the focus is immunizing the six months to 11 year-old age group, if there's vaccines left over they'll be offered as booster doses to people who are eligible. 

COVID-19 vaccines were approved for children aged six months to four years by Health Canada last month. Vancouver Coastal Health is encouraging all parents, guardians and caregivers of infants and young children to participate in the clinic.
