Bowen Island councillor Maureen Nicholson announced this morning she will be seeking the municipality’s mayoral position during this fall’s municipal election.
Nicholson announced the news on social media. She will also be running for one of Bowen's two trustee positions with Islands Trust.
Nicholson has served on the past two councils, elected in 2014 and 2018. Prior to that she held roles as vice-chair of the Library Board, board member for Bowen Heritage, and a member of the National Park Community Advisory Committee.
