Bowen saw significant snowfall on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The flurries returned to the island on Friday, Dec. 2, along with a wind warning.

A wind warning has been issued for the Howe Sound corrider starting Friday afternoon and carrying into Saturday night.

Environment Canada put out the alert, which is calling for winds of 70 to 90 km/h beginning this afternoon. The warning is in effect from Squamish down to Bowen Island.

The weather agency says the high winds will continue through to the following evening before easing up a bit. Conditions are still expected to be blustery until Sunday morning though.

People are advised that loose objects may begin flying around, and are asked to take precautions such as bringing such items inside or tying them down.

Motorists are also asked to be careful, as the combination of wind and snowfall can make for very hazardous road conditions, especially at night.
