Dear Editor, Woodfibre LNG has spoken, but again it seems to be seriously out of touch with reality.

Dear Editor, Council’s decision on Monday night to give further readings to Bylaws #422/425 is unfortunate on a number of fronts. 1. I disagree with consent agendas except for truly ‘housekeeping’ items.

Ask the nearest Bowen Islander what our municipality should be doing to tackle climate change and odds are good he or she will come back at you with a shrug.

Sustainability. Has the word lost its meaning? And if it has, does it even matter? If our species continues on a path of business as usual, our planet is not going to be a very comfortable place to live. Yes, this is old news.

Dear Editor, Returning to Bowen from my Christmas weekend I picked up a copy of The Undercurrent on the ferry.

In case you missed it, National Child day was on November 20 th and throughout the week, community organizations across the country took the opportunity to share information about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Dear Editor, I really appreciate living in this community, more so when it snows.

Dear Editor, I am sure the two hikers up Mount Gardner on Monday, the 12 th , were very happy to see the fire fighters who hiked up to them and helped them find their way down. Thank you to the Bowen fire fighters who participated in this rescue.
